ORGANAZATION & UNITS

Fästpunkt 1

ORGANIZATION

In our milsim events, we aim to provide participants with an experience that closely reflects the realities of infantry combat. To achieve this, we place a strong focus on leadership, structured organization, and teamwork.

In our events, there is no room for lone-wolf gameplay. Every participant is a vital member of their assigned unit and is expected to operate within the framework of a structured chain of command.

Players who sign up with the same team tag will be grouped together whenever possible. However, our primary goal is to ensure all essential roles within each unit are filled. As a result, you will be expected to collaborate and operate with other players within your fire team, squad, or unit, even if you are not familiar with them beforehand. Teamwork and adaptability are key to ensuring a cohesive and successful experience for everyone involved.

The organization of each faction is tailored to the event’s size, type, and specific objectives. We carefully structure factions with a variety of unit types to enhance their operational effectiveness and offer participants diverse and engaging experiences.

UNITS

The structure of each faction is tailored based on the size and type of the event, as well as what we as organizers determine to be most effective. We incorporate a selection of unit types to enhance the faction’s capabilities and provide a range of engaging experiences for participants. The  unit types may include:

  • Company HQ – Nordic Milsim Cadre

  • Infantry Platoon – The core element of our events

  • Rear Echelon Support Unit (Logistics/QRF) – A critical component of the Company HQ

  • Recon Unit – A self-sufficient and specialized element of the Company

COMPANY HQ

The Company HQ serves as the leadership core of the faction, overseeing overall strategy and mission execution during each event. Its primary responsibility is ensuring operational success through effective communication, decisive leadership, and efficient logistical coordination.

While the Company HQ is primarily managed by the Nordic Milsim Cadre, we welcome players who are interested in stepping into leadership roles within HQ. If this is something you’d like to explore, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us!

INFANTRY PLATOON

image-Photoroom_edited_edited_edited.png

The backbone of Nordic Milsim events lies in the infantry platoons, the primary force responsible for executing missions and engaging in tactical operations. Each platoon is composed of 3-5 squads, with 8-10 players per squad, working together as a cohesive unit under the guidance of dedicated leadership.

Platoon Leadership

The infantry platoon is led by a structured leadership team that ensures effective command, communication, and player well-being:

  • Platoon Leader (Player): Responsible for leading the platoon during missions, making tactical decisions, and directing squad-level actions.

  • Platoon Sergeant (Nordic Milsim Cadre): Serves as a mentor to the platoon leader, acts as a critical link between the platoon and Company HQ, and oversees the welfare of all players within the platoon.

  • Platoon RTO (Player): Manages communication within the platoon, ensuring smooth coordination between squads and with higher command. Responsible for the communication capabilities of the platoon and squad RTOs.

  • Platoon Medic (Player): Oversees the medical capabilities of the platoon, providing care and ensuring squad medics are equipped and effective.

Unit Cohesion

The infantry platoon operates as a single, unified entity. Squads do not function independently or "do their own thing." Every squad's actions are coordinated to support the platoon's objectives, emphasizing teamwork and discipline.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Patrolling: Conducting patrols to gather intelligence, secure areas, and support overall mission objectives.

  • Assaults: Engaging in offensive operations to capture critical positions and achieve key objectives.

  • Defense: Defending essential locations and objectives against enemy actions.

  • Security: Providing perimeter security for the platoon during operations, ensuring safety and readiness to respond to threats.

  • Rest Cycles and Shelter: During rest cycles, the platoon sleeps in the field and operates out of their packs. Patrol bases, determined by the platoon sergeant, may shift throughout the event. Players are required to use lightweight, portable shelters such as bivy sacks to maintain mobility and adaptability.

REAR ECHELON SUPPORT UNIT (LOGISTICS/QRF)

The Rear Echelon Support Unit (RESU) is an integral component of the Company HQ, tasked with ensuring smooth operations, maintaining security, and providing critical support to platoon-level units in the field. The unit is multifaceted, combining logistical, communication, and rapid-response capabilities to meet dynamic operational demands.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Communication Support: RESU members assist the Company HQ staff in manning radios to ensure continuous and reliable communication with platoon-level units. This role is vital for maintaining situational awareness and coordinating operational efforts across the company.

  • Logistical Resupply: When resupply is requested and approved, the RESU is responsible for delivering essential supplies to platoon-level units. This may include ammunition, medical supplies, or other mission-critical materials.

  • Company HQ Security: The unit provides perimeter security for the Company HQ, ensuring a safe and secure environment for command staff and operations. RESU members remain vigilant and ready to respond to any potential threats.

  • Quick Reaction Force (QRF): As directed by Company HQ, the RESU acts as a quick reaction force to support recon or platoon-level units. This can involve rapid deployment to address emerging threats, reinforce positions, or execute special tasks requiring immediate action.

  • Rest Cycles and Accommodations: During rest cycles, RESU members will remain with the Company HQ. Personal tents are permitted, provided they are of subdued color to maintain operational security. The Company HQ will not relocate, offering stability and consistency for rest and resupply.

RECON UNIT

The Recon Unit is a specialized and self-sufficient element of the Company tasked with gathering critical intelligence and performing disruptive operations to support overall mission objectives. Recon team members operate independently, often deep within the operational area, and are expected to maintain a high level of discipline, stealth, and adaptability.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Long-Range Patrols: Recon teams conduct long-range patrols, remaining self-sufficient without relying on support from platoon-level units. This requires careful planning, resource management, and a high degree of autonomy.

  • Intelligence Gathering: Recon focuses on gathering intelligence through observation, prioritizing the avoidance of enemy contact. Their mission is to provide detailed and actionable information without compromising their position or mission.

  • Listening and Observation Posts (LP/OP): Teams establish and man listening and observation posts as directed by Company HQ. These positions are used to monitor enemy activity, assess terrain, and gather crucial data for operational planning.

  • Objective Support: Recon directly supports platoon-level objectives by providing intelligence on terrain and enemy force dispositions near objective locations. This information is vital for tactical decision-making and mission success.

  • Disruption Operations: Recon units conduct sabotage and ambush missions aimed at disrupting enemy logistics, command and control, and screening friendly force movements. These operations are critical for creating tactical advantages and degrading the enemy’s operational capabilities.

  • Rest Cycles and Shelter: During rest cycles, recon teams may either remain with the Company HQ or sleep in a separate location within the area of operations (AO). Lightweight, easily portable shelters such as bivy sacks are required to maintain mobility and adaptability.
